(Worthy News) – President Donald Trump announced Thursday that the United States will not launch additional military strikes against Iran before the November 3 midterm elections, citing ongoing diplomatic negotiations with Tehran while maintaining Washington’s economic and military pressure on the Islamic Republic.
“We are having productive discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, describing Tehran as severely weakened economically and militarily following months of conflict.
The president emphasized that the American blockade would remain in effect, restricting Iranian oil exports while allowing shipments from other Persian Gulf nations to pass through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Trump concluded his announcement with an unmistakable warning: “IRAN WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!”
The announcement follows reports that the Pentagon was preparing for another major military campaign against Iran, raising concerns about renewed escalation in a conflict that began February 28 with coordinated American and Israeli strikes that killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Despite Trump’s diplomatic overtures, significant disagreements remain. Tehran continues to reject American demands to abandon uranium enrichment and surrender its nuclear stockpile, while negotiations over reopening the Strait of Hormuz remain unresolved.
Meanwhile, the United States continues strengthening its military presence in the Middle East, with a third aircraft carrier expected to arrive later this month, preserving Washington’s ability to resume large-scale operations should negotiations collapse.
Trump’s decision comes as rising gasoline prices and economic concerns weigh on American voters ahead of elections that will determine control of Congress.
Although the president has ruled out additional strikes before November 3, he has left open the possibility of renewed military action afterward if Tehran refuses an agreement.
