Trump Amplifies Kid Rock’s Warning of Religious Conflict as Michigan Senate Race Intensifies

by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Washington D.C. Bureau Chief

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Worthy News) – President Donald Trump has amplified warnings from musician Kid Rock about the growing influence of Islamic ideology in Michigan, sharing a video in which the outspoken conservative entertainer expressed fears of a future religious conflict and sharply criticized Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.

Speaking with Lara Trump on Fox News, Kid Rock pointed to Dearborn, Michigan, where he was born and where several generations of his family lived, highlighting the city’s large Arab-American population.

“I don’t want my grandkids to one day have to fight some civil war over religious ideology,” Rock warned, adding, “This is scary. I think El-Sayed’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

Trump reposted the interview on Truth Social without additional commentary, further escalating a political confrontation over religious ideology, national identity, and the future of Michigan.

Trump Targets Democratic Senate Candidate

The president has repeatedly criticized El-Sayed, a Muslim progressive running against Republican former Rep. Mike Rogers, accusing him of holding extremist views.

Following Thursday’s Senate debate, Trump described El-Sayed as a “Jihadist lunatic” and praised Rogers for what he characterized as a decisive debate victory. El-Sayed has rejected Republican efforts to portray him as a dangerous radical.

The controversy intensified during a Saturday rally in Tennessee, where Kid Rock declared his opposition to Islamist extremism and efforts to impose Sharia law in the United States.

“No religious cult or ideology gets to override our Constitution,” Rock told the crowd, emphasizing his opposition to any attempt to impose religious law on Americans.

Michigan Race Could Determine Senate Control

The increasingly contentious race has become one of the nation’s most closely watched Senate contests.

According to Reuters, recent polling shows El-Sayed leading Rogers by between one and seven percentage points, while Republicans have spent approximately $86 million in the contest, more than twice the Democrats’ $41 million.

With Republicans holding a 53–47 Senate majority, Michigan could play a decisive role in determining which party controls Congress following the November midterm elections.

The dispute reflects a broader national debate over religious liberty, constitutional government, and the distinction between protecting Americans’ freedom of worship and confronting political extremism.
