(Worthy News) – Iran has firmly rejected American demands to surrender its enriched uranium stockpile, declaring that none of its nuclear material will leave the country and warning that negotiations with Washington cannot resume until the United States accepts Tehran’s conditions.
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, delivered the ultimatum Tuesday during a meeting in Tehran with Pakistani military chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, who has been working to mediate between Washington and Tehran.
“Not a single gram of enriched uranium will be removed from Iran,” Rezaei declared, describing the stockpile as a national asset that must remain under Iranian control.
He further insisted that diplomatic talks would remain suspended until Washington fulfilled Tehran’s demands, including measures intended to restore Iranian confidence in American commitments.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf reinforced that position, insisting that the United States must satisfy seven conditions before negotiations can advance. Those demands include lifting sanctions, ending the American naval blockade of Iranian ports, and addressing broader regional hostilities.
The declaration represents another major obstacle to President Donald Trump’s efforts to secure an agreement preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Washington has demanded substantial restrictions on uranium enrichment, while Tehran continues to insist its nuclear program serves peaceful purposes.
Nuclear Standoff Raises Fears of Renewed Military Confrontation
The confrontation comes amid renewed American and Israeli military pressure following the war that began February 28. A U.S.-Iranian understanding reached in June failed to produce a lasting settlement, leaving Tehran’s nuclear stockpile and the strategic Strait of Hormuz at the center of the dispute.
Vice President JD Vance has emphasized that Iran must demonstrate a meaningful reduction in its enrichment capabilities, while Trump has repeatedly warned that Tehran will not be permitted to acquire nuclear weapons.
With Iran refusing to surrender its enriched uranium and Washington unwilling to accept a nuclear-armed Islamic Republic, the widening diplomatic divide raises the possibility of another military confrontation as regional tensions continue to escalate.
