(Worthy News) – Political committees funded by billionaire George Soros and his network have distributed more than $40 million to Democratic-aligned organizations during the 2026 election cycle, according to campaign-finance filings covering activity through June 30.
The recipients include Senate Majority PAC, House Majority PAC, the J Street Action Fund and American Bridge’s political committee. Democracy PAC alone reported receiving more than $102 million this cycle, including money from Soros-owned Geosor Corp. and the Soros-founded Fund for Policy Reform. FactCheck.org compiled the figures from Federal Election Commission records.
Senate Majority PAC received $9 million from Democracy PAC before announcing $30 million in spending to support Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan. The filings do not establish that the Soros-backed contribution was specifically earmarked for that race. Fox News first reported the connection.
The spending is part of a much longer political operation. Soros contributed $175 million to Democracy PAC II during the 2022 cycle, although much of that money remained unspent; the committee still reported more than $121 million in cash at the end of June 2026. During the 2024 election cycle, Democracy PAC and Democracy PAC II spent a combined $82 million.
George Soros transferred control of much of his political and philanthropic operation to his son Alex in 2023. The network’s full 2026 activity may not be known until later filings are released, particularly because some funding moves through nonprofit organizations with delayed disclosure requirements.
