Poll: Nearly 1 in 5 U.S. Voters Would Accept End of Israel to Stop Iran War

by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Washington D.C. Bureau Chief

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Worthy News) – Nearly one in five likely American voters say they would accept a peace agreement ending the Iran war that would dissolve the State of Israel and replace it with a Palestinian state if the deal also brought lower oil and gasoline prices, according to a new poll.

The Our Republic/Rasmussen survey found that 19% of likely voters would accept such an agreement, according to Just the News. Among Democrats, the figure rose to 24%.

But the most striking finding came among America’s youngest voters.

Among those ages 18 to 24, 46% said they would accept a deal eliminating Israel as a state under those conditions — nearly half of respondents in that age group.

The survey of 1,026 likely voters was conducted Sept. 20 and carries a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.

The poll does not establish that respondents favor violence against Jewish people; its question concerned dissolving Israel as a sovereign state as part of a negotiated settlement. Still, the willingness of a substantial share of young Americans to contemplate Israel’s disappearance comes amid persistently elevated levels of antisemitism in the United States.

According to FBI data cited by the Anti-Defamation League, 1,528 anti-Jewish hate-crime incidents were reported in 2025, representing 63% of all reported religion-based hate crimes nationwide. While that was down from the record 1,938 incidents reported in 2024, 2025 remained the third-highest year on record.

Separately, the ADL documented 6,274 incidents of antisemitic assault, harassment and vandalism in 2025 — an average of 17 incidents each day. The overall number declined from 2024 but remained dramatically above levels recorded before Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

The Iran-war survey nevertheless showed broader support for the United States in the conflict: 74% said they hoped America would win. At the same time, 51% blamed either the United States or Israel for starting the conflict, while 39% blamed Iran.

A Prophetic Pattern: From Fishermen to Hunters

For Bible-believing Christians watching the dramatic rise of hostility toward Israel and Jewish communities around the world, the trend carries a sobering prophetic parallel.

God declares in Jeremiah 16:15 that He would “bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers.” The following verse then contains an extraordinary image:

“Behold, I will send for many fishermen,” says the Lord, “and they shall fish them; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.” — Jeremiah 16:16

Jeremiah’s immediate context includes divine judgment, and interpretations of the fishermen and hunters differ. Yet many Christians have also seen in the passage a prophetic pattern connected with the Jewish people’s eventual return to their ancestral homeland: first drawn toward the land, and later driven by increasingly hostile conditions among the nations.

Jeremiah 31 reinforces the larger restoration theme: “He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him as a shepherd does his flock.”

Against that biblical backdrop, today’s numbers are difficult to ignore. Antisemitism is no longer confined to society’s margins. Jewish institutions continue to face threats and violence, while a new poll suggests nearly half of America’s youngest adult voters could accept a political settlement in which the Jewish state itself ceased to exist.

For Christians watching biblical prophecy, the question is not merely political. Are we witnessing another stage in the ancient pattern — as hostility among the nations increasingly presses the Jewish people toward the land God promised their fathers?
