(Worthy News) – The Pentagon has directed U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) to finalize preparations for possible large-scale military strikes against Iran as President Donald Trump considers resuming major combat operations amid stalled nuclear negotiations and escalating tensions across the Middle East.
According to reports from Axios and Newsmax, the directive was issued several days ago, although Trump has not made a final decision or established a timetable for military action.
Potential targets reportedly include Iran’s nuclear facilities, energy infrastructure, and strategic military installations, with American and Israeli forces potentially conducting coordinated operations.
The preparations follow a recent national security meeting at Camp David, where senior administration officials discussed Iran and the growing threat posed by Iranian-backed Houthi forces in Yemen.
Trump also spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, their second conversation in several days, as Israel’s security leadership reviewed the possibility of renewed hostilities.
The military preparations come as Washington continues expanding its regional presence, with additional American naval forces moving toward the Middle East. The deployment could bring three U.S. aircraft carriers into the region by late October.
Officials have suggested that renewed strikes could occur before the November 3 U.S. midterm elections or Israel’s October 27 elections, although military action remains uncertain.
Meanwhile, diplomatic negotiations mediated by Qatar have reportedly made little progress, leaving Washington weighing whether additional military pressure could force Tehran into concessions.
The developments raise the prospect of another major confrontation between the United States, Israel, and Iran, potentially drawing the wider Middle East into renewed conflict.
