(Worthy News) – Iranian government supporters burned American and Israeli flags Wednesday while demonstrators displayed banners threatening to kill President Donald Trump during nationwide rallies marking the 47th anniversary of the 1979 seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran.
Thousands participated in demonstrations across Iran, including a major gathering outside the former American Embassy, where protesters denounced the United States and Israel. One banner carried the explicit warning, “We will kill Trump,” according to The Times of Israel.
The annual demonstrations commemorate November 4, 1979, when Iranian revolutionaries stormed the U.S. Embassy and took American diplomats hostage. Fifty-two Americans remained captive for 444 days, triggering a diplomatic rupture between Washington and Tehran that continues today.
This year’s commemorations come amid heightened military tensions. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned Tuesday that its potential retaliation against American and Israeli interests would no longer be restricted by geographical boundaries, raising concerns about a wider regional confrontation.
The demonstrations underscore the Islamic Republic’s continued hostility toward Washington and Jerusalem as President Trump maintains pressure on Tehran over its nuclear ambitions and regional military activities.
