(Worthy News) – An Iranian-born Christian facing deportation from Israel has been granted temporary residency following an intervention by U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, according to an exclusive report by ALL ISRAEL NEWS.
Ramin Parsa, an Iranian believer married to an Israeli woman, received a one-year residency permit from Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority, ending—for now—a prolonged legal battle that threatened to separate him from his wife and child.
Parsa and his wife married in 2020 and moved to Israel in 2023. The couple applied for his citizenship the following year, but because Parsa was born in Iran—legally considered an enemy state by Israel—his application was referred to a humanitarian committee. After roughly 18 months, authorities rejected his request based on his Iranian birthplace.
A judge subsequently ruled that the decision was disproportionate and ordered the Interior Ministry to reconsider the case, including the potential impact on Parsa’s Israeli wife and child. The ministry nevertheless issued another rejection in July, leaving the family facing a final appeal and the possibility of Parsa’s deportation.
Huckabee Intervenes
The case took a dramatic turn after Huckabee, who personally knows the family, intervened several weeks ago.
According to ALL ISRAEL NEWS, Huckabee sent an official letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu highlighting Parsa’s support for Israel, his public opposition to the Iranian regime’s threats, and the humanitarian circumstances facing his family. Parsa’s attorneys then submitted the ambassador’s letter as part of the legal proceedings.
The residency decision allows Parsa to remain legally in Israel for the next year and opens the door for him to seek permanent status.
Parsa thanked Huckabee, his attorneys and Israelis who supported his case, saying he hoped his experience would encourage authorities to look beyond a person’s nationality and consider the individual behind the passport.
He also said he intends to devote himself to supporting Israel and becoming “a voice of truth” amid growing hostility toward Israel and the Jewish people.
ALL ISRAEL NEWS had previously brought international attention to Parsa’s case, reporting last month on his battle against deportation and noting that Christians around the world had been praying for a breakthrough.
