(Worthy News) – Justice Department and Homeland Security investigations focus on noncitizen voting, false citizenship claims and fraudulent registrations
Federal authorities have arrested, charged or convicted more than 200 people in a widening election-integrity crackdown, according to senior Trump administration officials.
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon said the Justice Department had recently indicted or convicted 67 people for election-related crimes. The Department of Homeland Security has reportedly made more than 160 arrests while investigating alleged voting by noncitizens.
The Justice Department separately announced charges against 16 people across seven states on Sept. 18. The cases involve allegations of unlawful voting, fraudulent voter registration and false claims of U.S. citizenship. Some defendants also face related fraud, firearms, or immigration charges.
One federal operation in Texas charged seven noncitizens with illegally voting or falsely claiming citizenship. Officials stressed that indictments and criminal complaints are allegations; defendants remain innocent unless proven guilty.
Every fraudulent ballot violates both the law and the trust of Americans who participate honestly. Protecting that trust requires careful voter-roll maintenance, firm prosecution and election officials willing to uphold the same rules for everyone.
