JERUSALEM, ISRAEL (Worthy News) – More than 1,000 Christian leaders and influencers representing 117 nations arrived in Israel Monday for the annual Friends of Zion Ambassador Summit, bringing together believers from around the world to strengthen Christian support for the Jewish state and confront rising antisemitism.
The summit, which runs through Oct. 11, was founded by American Christian evangelist Mike Evans and is being held for the second consecutive year in cooperation with Israel’s Foreign Ministry.
Organizers said roughly 300 participants are between the ages of 18 and 29, reflecting an effort to introduce a new generation of Christian leaders to Israel firsthand.
Evans said the goal is for younger believers to “see Israel for themselves” and hear directly from Israelis whose lives were forever changed by the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, invasion and massacre.
“We are bringing together a new generation of leaders alongside experienced voices to bear witness, to remember and to strengthen the bonds between Israel and Christian communities around the world,” Evans said.
Participants are scheduled to hear testimony from released hostages, survivors of the Oct. 7 attacks and bereaved families. They are also expected to meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion.
Following the summit, attendees are expected to return to their nations and communities as Friends of Zion ambassadors, advocating for Israel and combating antisemitism.
Israel’s special envoy to the Christian world, Ambassador George Deek, said the gathering sends a clear message at a critical moment.
“Israel does not stand alone,” Deek said. “The bond between Israel and Christians around the world must be built on truth, courage and a shared determination to confront antisemitism and hatred wherever they appear.”
